BORON – The Boron Ladycats Volleyball teams played at home against the California City Ravens on Sept. 26 and the Varsity Ravens took home the win by a score of 3-0 in three sets: 25-18, 25-15 and 25-17. Ladycats Varsity season stats coming away from California City are: No. 19 Shayla Smith 40 kills and 5 blocks, No. 24 Tatum Wiggs 15 serving aces, No. 9 Amara Page 43 digs and 76 receptions and No. 2 Kaili York 28 assists. Boron remains at No. 6 in the High Desert League standings and fall to No. 23 in the Central Section Division 5 standings; their next match up is at Desert High School against the Scorpions on Oct. 1 then they’re back home on Oct. 3 against Kern Valley and Oct. 8 against Mammoth. The Boron Bobcats played another home game against Big Bear on Sept. 27; the weather for the game was a tad bit windy but the ‘Cats seemed ready to play on their home field and won the game by a score of 20-14; team stats for the Bobcats this season so far are: 97 total receiving yards, 80 total rushing yards, 7 total touchdowns, 59.5 tackles per game, 9.5 sacks and 1 interception. The Bobcats are ranked No. 3 in the High Desert League standings with a total of 2 wins and 3 losses and ranked No. 11 in the Central Section Division 6 standings going into their home game against Rosamond on Oct. 4, which is Boron’s Homecoming game.

The Boron Wildcats have a bye week this week and will be back in action on Oct. 5 when they play IWV at home; this game comes to us during Boron’s annual 20 Mule Team Days celebration.
