CALIFORNIA CITY – The California City Whiptails picked up a win, of sorts, on Monday. Because of a communication error between Pecos League officials and officiating officials - resulting in no umpires for the 4 p.m. game -. the plan was to reschedule that game, giving umpires time to arrive for the 7 p.m. game. The Amberjacks apparently were not keen on waiting around for three hours and eventually chose to forfeit the game and return home early.

Earlier in the month, the Whiptails fell 8 to 25 against the High Desert Yardbirds on June 20 at Balsitis Park, lost 2 to 4 against the Monterey Amberjacks on June 21 in Monterey and lost 6 to 11 against the Amberjacks on June 22. In game three of the series on June 23, the Whiptails squeaked by the Amberjacks with a score of 13 to 12.

The Whiptails were scheduled for two home games, one on Tuesday and one today against the Bakersfield Train Robbers at Balsitis Park.

Whiptails will finish out the month with travel to Wasco to play the Reserves on June 28 and then host the Wasco Reserves at Balsitis Park on June 29 and June 30.

July 1 starts a four night series of home games, against the Yardbirds on July 1, then the Train Robbers on July 2 before two more home games against the Yardbirds on July 3 and July 4.

Hitting the road for two games, Whiptails will play the Wasco Reserves in Wasco on July 5 and the High Desert Yardbirds July 6 in Adelanto. July 7 will see Whiptails take on the Roswell Invaders before hitting the road to play the Reserves again in Wasco on July 8.

July 12 through 14 will be home games, facing the Tucson Saguaros on July 12; the High Desert Yardbirds on July 13 and the Bakersfield Train Robbers on July 14.

Whiptails will be on the road July 16 through 22, traveling to Tucson, Arizona; White Sands, New Mexico; Roswell, New Mexico and back to Tucson before hosting the Monterey Amberjacks at Balsitis Park on July 23 through July 25.
