The annual Wreaths for Veterans ceremony at California City Memorial Park drew dozens on Saturday, Dec. 19 to honor the local veterans and service members buried at the cemetery.

The ceremony, launched 10 years ago locally by Colleen Murillo and Heidi Stroh, began as a local ceremony in step with the National Wreaths Across America event. For the past three years, the ceremony has provided live wreaths for veterans buried in California City. In addition, Murillo, who now lives in Florida, travels back to help preside over the event.
