BORON – Folks are gearing up for another event of a lifetime in the 62 annual Twenty Mule Team Days celebration; this years event is a “Street Fair and Art and Music Festival”.

The celebration is set to take place on Saturday, Oct. 5 in downtown Boron. The celebration kicks off the night before with the announcement of the winner of Boron’s Honorary Mayor Contest during a dinner held at the Boron Seniors Center and then continues on all day Saturday.

The Seniors Center will be serving up breakfast which consists of biscuits and gravy, biscuit breakfast sandwiches and coffee; they will also be serving  pulled pork sandwiches during the lunchtime hours and for all you folks who enjoy Bingo, they’ll be playing during the evening hours. The Boron Bobcats play their Homecoming game against the Rosamond Roadrunner on Friday, Oct. 4 beginning at 7 p.m. and the Boron Youth Football Wildcats will also host IWV during their football games which are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5.

The celebration will also include the annual parade; sign in and line up will be taking place at the Boron Junior Senior High School parking area where entries can finish up their entry before leaving for downtown Boron. After the parade, vendors will be selling their wares along Twenty Mule Team Road; word also has it that there will be live music playing during the day; vendor forms for the event can be found on the Boron Chamber of Commerce Events and Planning Committee Facebook page.
