CALIFORNIA CITY - The California City Council officially acknowledged the work done by the Citizens Advisory Committee as it relates to Special Taxes.
"They are the ‘Watchdog of the Community,'" said Mayor Pat Bohannon at Tuesday night's council meeting. "They oversee what we as a Council do with the special tax money."
A new ordinance was introduced to recognize the committee as an independent organization, which works outside the council. The committee provides a sort of checks-and-balance service to the City when it comes to special tax collected from its citizens for the police and fire departments, roads and parks.
