Today we offer our sincere gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to the brave patriots whose military service keeps our country free.

At the end of the day, “service” cuts far deeper than our many victories on the battlefield. “Service” means missing holidays. Birthdays. Special moments and treasured memories that most of us take for granted. That’s why this Veterans Day and every day, I want to thank our men and women who wore the uniform for the time they took and the risks they made to ensure that the rest of us can live happy, free lives.

Veterans carry a hero’s burden and they deserve to be recognized as just that—heroes. Your sacrifice kept the flame of liberty alight and makes America a beacon of hope for the rest of the world.

On behalf of a very grateful nation, thank you for your service.
