SAN BERNARDINO – The California Department of Transportation will be opening a portion of the new segment of State Route 58 near Kramer Junction this week.
Beginning Thursday, Oct. 24 at 8 p.m. traffic control with flagging will be in effect eastbound and westbound on SR-58; at Kern County Line spanning approximately one mile and again east of Kramer Junction for approximately one mile.
The opening of the new segment of SR-58 will take place Oct. 24 between 11:59 p.m. and the morning of Oct. 25. The California Highway Patrol will be on location to escort motorists through the new segment upon opening. 
Be advised: the old section of SR-58 will be closed to through traffic from approximately one mile east of the Kern County Line to approximately three miles east of Kramer Junction.
Remember to reduce your speed in the work zone. Be advised, weather conditions may affect this operation.
