BORON- Several Boron kids and their parents took advantage of the inaugural Adventist Health Back to School Backpack and School Supplies Giveaway that was held Aug. 12 inside the Boron Junior Senior High School Multipurpose room. Adventist Health provided 50 backpacks with paper, notebooks, pens and pencils, crayons, a ruler and a pen and pencil holder for students who came to the giveaway.

Adventist Health spokesman Harold Peece explained, “We do this every year in Bakersfield and Tehachapi and so we thought it would be a great idea to have a giveaway in Mojave and Boron this year; which is our first year here. The backpacks that are left over, we will leave them here at the school for any students who wish to come by and get one”.

Adventist Health has a hospital in Bakersfield as well as a clinic in Tehachapi and California City and are Medicare/Medi-Cal accepting.
