MOJAVE – A California City resident suspected of leading police in a high speed chase had his day in court. 43-year old Robert Neice was arraigned on June 19 for Reckless Evading Peace Officer and Drive while License Suspended/Revoked.
According to a press release issued by the California City Police Department dated June 17, “Police have arrested 43-year old Robert Neice after he led officers in a chase through California City and ultimately coming to an end in San Bernardino County”. The release also stated that “at 4 p.m., officers responded to a report of a man hitting a woman in the Aspen Mall; when officers arrived, Neice fled in a green Suburban on Cal City Blvd toward Hwy 58 where he drove to the San Bernardino County line. The chase reached speeds of up to 100 mph and Neice ultimately pulled into the Pilot Travel Center in Kramer Junction where he surrendered”.
Neice appeared for a Pre-Preliminary Hearing on June 27 and a Preliminary Hearing on July 2 where the case was Held to Answer and Certified to Superior Court and he is scheduled to be arraigned in Bakersfield on July 11. Neice faces numerous charges including Felony Evading Police and Violation of State Parole.
