CALIFORNIA CITY – Six public meetings, including an update to the airport area rezoning project and a possible change to the city’s general plan amendment limits, will take up the bulk of the Planning Commission’s regular meeting on Tuesday.
Regarding airport rezoning, on May 21, the commission agreed to proceed with a city-initiated rezoning and general plan amendment project for 138 parcels on some 45.8 acres, staff will report on the progress of the plan.
The California City Municipal Code currently limits amendments to the General Plan only three times a year. “In order to proceed with several zone changes currently in the pipeline, (as well as the Airport area), the city will have to amend the municipal code,” reads the agenda.
Other public meetings include:
• Discussion of the California Environmental Quality Act oversight in the city
• Update of the California City Boulevard corridor study
• Discussion of possible code amendment regarding asphalt/concrete pavement requirement.
• Update of the site plan review projects.
The meeting will be held in Council Chambers, 21000 Hacienda Blvd., at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The meeting is open to the public.
