Police have two suspects in custody after a chase near Central Park. Officers were investigating a hit & Run Accident when a suspect matching the description of an earlier robbery, drove past the officers. Cal city officers stopped the vehicle on Lakeshore Drive and both occupants attempted to flee on foot. The driver was immediately apprehended.  

The second suspect, later identified as 19 year-old Messiah Swan of Cal City, fled from the officers toward Central Park. Swan was armed with a handgun but dropped it while running from the officers. After an hour of searching for Swan, Sergeant Craig located Swan hiding inside the abandoned Lakeshore Inn.

The handgun was recovered.

Swan also faces charges in connection of him forcibly taking money from an elderly man  earlier in the week near Victor Plaza.

Swan faces charges including weapons charges, theft and resisting arrest.

The driver, identified as 20 year-old Deshun Hames faces multiple vehicle code charges.
