BORON – Boron Junior Senior High School held their annual National Honor Society and California Scholarship Induction ceremony on the evening of May 29 inside the school multipurpose room at 5 p.m.
Denise Poe who is a teacher and advisor at Boron Junior Senior High School welcomed attendees then Secretary Abigail Castro led everyone in the Pledge of Allegiance. After the Pledge, CSF President Matthew Etheridge again welcomed everyone to the ceremony the Poe and Rebecca Flores who is another advisor gave the introduction and history of the California Scholarship Federation.
After all was said and done, BHS senior officers Matthew Etheridge and Skyler Smith presented each member with their card as follows: Sophomores – Amy Alwaw, Kevin Cordes, Manuel Flores, Savana Fowlkes, Aurora Olson, Nicholas Slagenweit and Victor Pineda; Juniors – Austin-Jolie Brown, Tiffany Bueno, Abigail Castro, Aaron Core, Viktoriya Didenko, Bryson Job, Solymar Lisk, Brandon Namkung and Victor Pineda and Senior – Vanessa Perez. Life Membership went to Jennifer Cano-Aguilar, Joshua Dees, Matthew Etheridge and Rose O’Dell; 100% Life Membership went to Vanessa Perez.
The National Honor Society ceremony was next with the introduction then a candle lighting ceremony as follows: Character – Joshua Dees, Scholarship – Vanessa Perez, Leadership – Matthew Etheridge, and Service – Abigail Castro. Motivational Quotes were done by Advisor Rebecca Flores.
Membership cards were also presented in the Society as follows: Sophomores – Amy Alwaw, Manuel Flores, Savana Fowlkes, Aurora Olson and Shayla Smith; Juniors – Austin-Jolie Brown, Tiffany Bueno, Abigail Castro, Kelton Chenworth, Aaron Core, Viktoriya Didenko, Bryson Job, Garrett Knight, Solymar Lisk and Victor Pineda and Seniors – Michael Arambula, Jennifer Cano-Aguilar, Joshua Dees, Matthew Etheridge, Sonora Keys, George Mlinar, Steve Mlinar, Raquel Morales, Rose O’Dell, Vanessa Perez and Skyler Smith.
After the membership card presentation and candle lighting, David Wiggs who is the principal at Boron Junior Senior High School gave a farewell to the graduating seniors. Refreshments and photo ops took place at the closing of the ceremony.
