Police investigating shooting - Suspect apprehended - Victor Plaza

California City - Shortly after 3:00 PM today, officers responded to the Victor Plaza area of California City for a reported shooting. Witnesses reported seeing a male shooting a handgun from a vehicle. No one was reported struck by the gunfire. Police searched the area for the suspected shooters vehicle. It was described as a black Infinity sedan. The suspect was described as a hispanic male 30-35 years of age with tattoos on his face.

Officers spotted the suspect vehicle near the scene and quickly apprehended the suspect without incident. Officers recovered a spent shell casing at the scene and a handgun was found in the suspect's car.

The suspect was identified as 32 year-old Brandon Hernandez of Cal City.

He is being charged with multiple weapons violations including assault with deadly weapon/firearm.
