National Weather Service - Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect for California City Area.

Excessive heat / hot temperatures will remain in the California City area from Today to Thursday - Temperatures  from 105 - 112 degrees can be expected.

California City officials will be adding services during the extreme times of this heat wave. The California City Strata Center at Central Park will be opening as a Cooling Center for local residents. The Strata Center will be opening for all affected days (Sunday - Tuesday) from 1:00 - 7:00 PM. Dial-a-ride services will be extended and available for rides to the Cooling Centers. The Special Dial-a-ride Transportation phone number for rides to and from the Cooling Centers is (760) 338-1418. Rides TO and FROM the cooling centers ONLY, will be FREE to residents.

Residents should avoid unnecessary outdoor activity during the afternoons while the Heat Warning is in effect.
